Namaste, I’m Mahendra , Managing Director of Equator Expedition.
I have over twenty-five years’ experience as a professional guide in the Himalayas, leading numerous river and mountaineering expeditions. This experience has given me an extensive knowledge of these regions and provided valuable insight into the logistics of ensuring safe, smooth expeditions. Realizing that the rafting companies of Nepal needed more unity, in 1988 I became the founding President of the Nepal Rafting Guide Association and retained this position until 1992.
From 1999 until 2001 I acted as the General Secretary for the Nepal Rafting Agent Association, NARA www.raftingassociation.org.np and then increased my leadership role to President of this organization from 2002 through 2004. In order to gain more experience in the fields of trekking and mountaineering, I took on the role of Second Vice President of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) www.taan.org.np. Wishing to give TAAN more focus and direction, I took the initiative of becoming the President of TAAN in 2011 and will retain this position until 2013.
