Annapurna, Langtang and Everest are the three main areas in Nepal where it is possible to walk well defined trails and stay at local teahouses. All you have to bring is a sleeping bag, warm cloths for the evening when the sun goes down, a camera and a water bottle. Teahouses provide excellent food including pasta, curries, muesli and even apple pie and custard.
A normal trekking day involves approximately 3-4 hours steady trekking with rest periods and time to enjoy the surroundings, and an afternoon of 2-3 hours of similar progress.
Taking part calls for a reasonable level fitness and a good attitude. Treks marked "Hard" involve some resolve and stamina, however if you are of average fitness and enjoy the outdoors you should manage well.
A local guide / porter accompanies all departures. Your guide will contribute valuable local knowledge, to enhance your Himalayan experience, and a porter allows you the pleasure to trek with only a day pack on your shoulders.
