KANCHENJUNGA BASE CAMP

This strenuous trek take us to the far north eastern corner of Nepal, visiting both the north and south aspects of Kanchenjunga, the world’s, third highest peak. The trek starts with two internal flights, which deliver us into the heart of the Himalayan wilderness. From the mountain airstrip of Taplejung the trail descends through terraced fields to the Tamur River, which drains the mighty glaciers of Kanchenjunga. Landscapes continually change with the elevation as we travel north acclimatizing to high alpine terrain indigenous to the yak herders. Crossing the Mirgin La Pass (4610m) we follow the moraines of Kanchenjunga’s ever changing glaciers seeking out t the best views of it’s mighty north and south faces. This is an epic trek not or the faint hearted.
