Gosai Kunda Trek 8 Days

Day 01: Kathmandu -Dhunche (1960m, 6 hours).

Drive to Dhunche (1960m) by bus takes 6 hours, a scenic drive through Nepalese country sides

pass through villages, rivers with an amazing view of Himalayan peaks like Lantang and Ganesh

Himal. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 02: Trek to Thulo Syabru Village (2200m, 5/6 hours)

Trek to Thulo Syabru (2200m), the biggest ethnic Tamang village in the region. We can see the

stone topped local houses with Buddhist holy flags, excellant views of Langtang Lirung and

Tibetan mountain range. It takes 5 hours walk.

Day 03: Sybru Village to Sing Gompa (3210m)

Passing Schools and gompas the trail ascent through the forest of hemlock and oak until trail

Dursagang (2660m). Then the trail gradually ascent through forest Sing Gompa. Sing Gompa is

popular for Yak cheese factory and Buddhist monastery.

Day 04: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda (4380m)

The trail climbs gradually up to Lauirbina Yak (3920m). From Lauirbina Yak, you can see

panoramic mountain views of Nepal and Tibet Himalayan range. Then continue trek up to a

small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni and further climbing you can see good views of

Saraswati kunda and Bhairav Kunda and reach to Gosaikund.

Day 05: Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3440m)

The trail leads to the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake and passing three more small lakes; you

will reach Laurebina pass (4610m15120ft). The trail descends to Phedi (3740m). We continue

trek to Ghopte with following up and down trail.

Day 06: Ghopte to Kutumsang(2621m)

From Ghopte, the trail ascent from and again trail ascent to Tharepati. The trail descends through

fir and rhododendron forest observing the beautiful mountain views of Mt. Dorje Lakpa range on

its way to Kutumsang (2450m).

Day 07: Kutumsang to Chisopani(2194m)

The trail descends to the delightful hill village of Gul Bhanjyang. And again trail ascent until

Thodang Betini and we continue trek down to Pati Bhanjyang (1860m) and exploring a Brahman

and Chhetri village. Then the trail proceeds to Chisopani.

Day 08: Chisopani to Kathmandu via Sundarijal.

The route goes forward through the forest of oak and rhododendron, and brings you to Borlang

Bhanjyang (2440m). After we trek down to Mulkharka (1800m) from where you can see

spectacular view of Kathmandu valley. Descending through the forest to Sundarijal. And we

drive back to Kathmandu by car.

Gosaikunda Helambu Trek Alternative Itinerary via Melamchi Gaun.

The trail leads to the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake and passing three more small lakes; you

will reach Laurebina pass (4610m15120ft). The trail descends to Phedi (3740m). We continue

trek to Ghopte with following up and down trail.

Day 06: Ghopte to Melamchi Gaun (2530m)

From Ghopte we will trek for another 7 to 8 hours to Tharepati pass and then to Melamchigaun

(2530m).

Day 07: Melamchi gaun to Tarkeghyang(2600m)

From Melamchigaun we will head towards Tarkeghyang (2600m), which will take 4 to 5 hours.

Day 08: Tarkeghyang to Kathmandu.

From Tarkeghyang we will head back to Thimpu and drive back to Kathmandu.
